I still laugh when I think about how Akash and I first met on Mohabbatein, the best Hindu matrimony in India. It wasn’t some instant spark or love-at-first-sight moment. In fact, I almost didn’t send him a reply back. His introduction was simple—just a polite “Hi”—and part of me thought, “Here we go again.” Later, I checked out his profile anonymously using Mohabbatein’s ghost mode feature, and something about his approach and overall appearance felt genuine, so I took a chance and replied. I never expected that tiny decision would change my life forever.

But he didn’t turn out to be a whirlwind romance as I had wanted him to be; instead, it was late-night conversations that slowly caught up as something real. We discussed everything: the most mundane daily matters to the deepest desires in life. Not perfect – there were awkward moments, and we weren’t always sure where things were headed.  As our conversations moved forward, we decided to go for an offline face-to-face meetup, and it opened the door to further connect with each other in real life. Now, as I sit here writing this as Akash’s wife, I realize how those early, uncertain moments led us to where we are today—a place I wouldn’t trade for the world.
